Bird Feeders

Bird Feeders allow us to enjoy a popular American past time. The Audubon Society estimates that 60 million Americans enjoy feeding wild birds, and no wonder; this engaging hobby provides us with a sense of satisfaction to know that we may have helped our feathered friends to survive a harsh winter, a long migration, or a loss of habitat. In addition, it can be ever so entertaining to watch wild birds!

There are many styles of bird feeders from which to choose. Some are designed for specific birds, and each is designed to dispense a particular type of food, which along with the amount of perching space, will dictate the types of birds you will attract.

Decorative bird feeders typically hold mixed seed, or black oil sunflower kernels which are appreciated by the greatest variety of wild birds. However, the small perches may exclude larger birds such as starlings and crows. We offer a wonderful selection to enhance your garden decor.

Tube bird feeders have either tiny ports to deliver Nyjer thistle seed, or larger ports for mixed seed and black oil sunflower. The perches are designed for finches, chickadees, and other small perching birds, and larger species will be excluded.

If you want to offer a banquet to all your backyard birds, choose hopper, gazebo, or platform bird feeders. You will find these in our wooden and recycled plastic bird feeders sections. Offer an assortment of different styles to accommodate a wider variety of wild birds.

We also offer species-specific feeders such as hummingbird feeders and oriole bird feeders. Chose from decorative, blown glass, recycled glass, and plastic styles.

Squirrels will be attracted to your bird feeders, and they can be quite persistant in their pursuit of a meal. If squirrels are a problem for you, we suggest that you distract them by providing them with their own feeders, or try one of our squirrel-proof bird feeders, many of which are quite ingenious. Some even have motorized parts that spin the furry critters away!
