In addition to planting flowers and flowering shrubs, you can attract butterflies to your garden by providing
butterfly houses which provide shelter from wind and rain. You can also provide butterfly nectar feeders to nourish the butterflies, and entertain children and adults alike.
In addition to nectar, butterflies love over-ripe fruit such as bananas, strawberries, peaches, apples, melons, and oranges, with an emphasis on over-ripe. The butterfly feeders we offer feature wicks for the butterflies to sip on, and stations to place over-ripe fruit as well.
Butterfly Nectar Recipe: Bring four parts water and one part cane sugar to boil for 2 minutes. Allow the nectar to cool completely before filling the nectar feeder. Place the nectar feeder in a shady spot just a few inches above flower height, but not higher than five feet. You can also purchase butterfly nectar mix, which does not require boiling.
