Suet Bird Feeders

Suet bird feeders come in many different styles designed to hold one or two commercially made suet cakes. Suet is a favorite food of many backyard birds, including birds that normally won't come to seed feeders. Adding a suet feeder is a great way to attract wild birds, especially woodpeckers and other clingers. Woodpecker suet feeders often have a wooden tail prop that the woodpecker will use to balance itself while feeding. Upside down suet feeders are designed for woodpeckers and other clinging birds and will exclude other birds such as starlings which are not able to cling in an upside down position. Suet provides a needed source of calories in the winter months, but is appreciated year round.
