Tube Bird Feeders

Tube Bird Feeders such as nyjer, thistle and mixed seed tube bird feeders attract a great variety of small and medium sized perching birds such as chickadees, finches, grossbeaks and more. There are two types of tube bird feeders which determine they type of seed you can offer and the types of birds you will attract.

Thistle Bird Feeders dispense Nyjer thistle seed which is a favorite food of goldfinches and pine siskins. These feeders typically contain tiny holes or ports through which the birds extract the seeds. Each port will have a perch, or there will be a spiral perch running the length of the tube. Squirrels do not like Nyjer thistle seed so there is no need to squirrel proof these feeders.

Mixed Seed Tube Feeders dispense mixed seeds and sunflower seeds, and attract a great variety of small and medium sized perching birds, especially when filled with black oil sunflower seeds or hullled sunflower seeds which are favored by most of the wild birds that visit our feeders. Mixed seed tube feeders are the perfect way to dispense these favorite foods to the smaller birds while preventing some of the larger nuisance birds from joining in.
